Life has certainly thrown some challenges and curve balls, however I belive it is how we face and deal with these that makes us who we are and stronger for it.
I found, in a time where I felt the most alone and terrified in this world, writing and reading got me through.
After a number of people saying to me I should publish my work, I decided to start a blog to share some of my writings and give back. As during this time, I wouldn’t have been able to afford to buy the book, as finances didn’t allow for anything extra, it barely allowed for essentials.
I would like to share with people and reassure them, there is light at the end of the tunnel; however, there is so much more than that.
During one of the most trying times in my life, I found a strength, determination and resilience, which I don’t know possible without the life lesson. Learning that life can be the most amazing in our darkest hours, if we simply change our view, change our thoughts, living and truly being grateful for the magical moments we are surrounded by and blessed with each and every day.
Coming from a grateful heart, life opens up and the most amazing things start to happen. It makes the most amazing difference. It doesn’t happen overnight, you have to build on it each day. It’s a choice and it truly starts multiplying exponentially from there.
Living with a grateful heart.
Our experiences in life make us who we are. They are building blocks that allow us to learn and appreciate life. If things were always great, how would we know? We wouldn’t truly appreciate the magic.
Creating Magical Memories
We can accumulate wealth, material possessions, but what do we remember when looking back?
Time spent together, whether it be working or at play, let’s make it about laughter, the treasured moments, no matter how insignificant we might feel it is at the time. Meals around the table, cooking them together, laughing, sharing our day or sharing our most intimate thoughts.
Living a healthy lifestyle.
We only have one body, we can change our hair, pop on fake lashes and nails. We can change certain things; however our body is what we need to be the healthiest it can be. It is fundamentally what will get us through or not. It is about quality for the future, mentally and physically. I personally want to live for as long as freaken possible, see my grand children and who knows, maybe even my great grandchildren. However I want to be fit of body and mind at the time. So sad to hear people speak of not wanting to be here in old age, because they feel trapped in their own bodies. It’s never too late to start… so START today!!
GRATEFUL HEART
What are you grateful for, right now? in this moment.
Think of three things every morning and every night. It may be tough at the beginning, however it becomes easier, once you learn to see how many things you have to be grateful for. I struggled at the start, but the more I was grateful for, the more I found. My children, my friends I attracted and reconnected with once changing my mindset, another day to schedule fun into our days with my girls and create more cherished moments for us cherish forever.
LIVING IN THE MOMENT
Time is neither something you can ever get back… nor something you can save up. We can wait until the time is right, until we have the perfect house, the perfect job, the perfect whatever it is we are after… Or we can live right now and enjoy the journey we travel to where we are headed. We miss out on so many things, thinking we have to wait until that “perfect time”.
Yesterday is history and we cannot change it, only learn and improve.
Tomorrow is not promised. We can plan for the future (which I think is important to have a plan of where we are headed) but there are no guarantees we will be there to enjoy it, (My mum’s story, that looking back retrospectively I have learnt so much from).
The present is what we have… the NOW… let’s not waste a moment of it. Take a chance, take the unknown road and check out what’s at the end. Appreciate the beautiful people and things you have around you. Stop and enjoy the MOMENT – one day, it will be the moment you cherish more than all the perfect moments we may be chasing in the distance and possibly never get to enjoy.
HEALTHY MIND AND BODY
We all find so many excuses that don’t enable us to take care of ourselves, whether it is exercise, or to read a book, to relax. I was there for years. It is amazing what happens when we start to schedule life and the things we want in there. There will always be extenuating circumstances, no doubt about it. However there is always “something” we can find the time to do for us. Even if it is only 5 or 10 mins.
It might be reading your first book after 7years. It might be curling up with your children to watch that movie before their bedtime and doing the dishes after they go to bed. It could be playing with Slime and feeling the sensation of it running through your fingers and enjoying their giggles and laughter (which is so therapeutic). Going for that park play and walking around the park equipment (feeling very self conscious and silly to start with – well I did 🙂 ) Taking that drive on the weekend, even though you have a pile of laundry and its sadly not going to do itself, but it will be there when you get back. Perhaps it is just taking a picnic mat out on lawn in the backyard and having a picnic on the grass, instead of the table, or everyone having snacks on the run. Playing that card or board game, that you remember you loved all too well as a child. There are so many options that allow us to relax, unwind and take care of ourselves, physically and mentally, that don’t need to be taxing, yet so rewarding.
